2 changes India might make in the playing XI against Australia in the 2nd T20I

Team India had to endure a disappointing loss at Mohali on Tuesday. It was the bowling department that let the men in blue down. Despite a very good score, barring Axar Patel, none of the other bowlers had an impact. Hence, we can expect a few changes for the next game, which will happen in Nagpur on 23rd September. On that note, here, we take a look at two changes India might make in playing XI against Australia in the 2nd T20I.

1) Jasprit Bumrah for Umesh Yadav

Jasprit Bumrah was coming back from an injury and it was a surprise that he did not play the first game. However, Rohit Sharma confirmed that he would be available for the remaining fixtures. Umesh Yadav was a wildcard selection for this series. His performance was anyways not great in the game. Hence, Bumrah would automatically replace him.

Bumrah’s availability will be key for Team India. In his absence, the bowling department has been under pressure. It now needs to be seen if his arrival would make the bowling attack perform better. Bumrah’s presence will allow Rohit to be more flexible while using Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the powerplay.

2) R Ashwin for Harshal Patel

R Ashwin for Harshal Patel is one of the changes India might make in playing XI against Australia in the 2nd T20I. Harshal is also coming back from injury but he looked rusty in the first game. If India wants to test combinations, they have to start immediately. Therefore, it won’t be a surprise if Harshal is sidelined for the next match.

R Ashwin has been decent in the limited chances that he has got. He can take better control of the middle overs and will be the ideal partner for Yuzvendra Chahal. From this perspective, R Ashwin could get a chance. If not Ashwin, Deepak Chahar is also an option for the management.
