On Tuesday, BCCI announced India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. May 25th will be the deadline for the teams to make any changes. Here, we take a look at the list of two changes India could still make in the final squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Before that, here is a look at the squad:
India squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj Reserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan
1) Rinku Singh for Axar Patel
It is a big shock that Rinku Singh did not find a place in the final 15 of the Indian Team. In recent months, he has finished quite a few games for India on a good note. Considering the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are not in good form, many expected Rinku to find a spot.
Nevertheless, India has two spin-bowling all-rounders. Axar Patel might have to miss out if Rinku produces a few good displays in IPL 2024. Hence, this change is still on the cards. If this happens, Ravindra Jadeja will play at No.7 in all the matches.
2) Khaleel Ahmed for Arshdeep Singh
Khaleel Ahmed for Arshdeep Singh is one of the changes India could still make in the final squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Khaleel has been in fine form in IPL 2024. He exerted good control on the game during the powerplay.
On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh has looked rusty in IPL 2024. Yes, he has played for India recently but current form will hold a key role. If Khaleel can do well in the death, he will surely offer a selection headache for the Indian selectors.
MAY 25 IS THE DEADLINE FOR THE FINAL SQUAD.
