2 changes England might make for the next game against India in Ranchi

England suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of India at Rajkot. At one stage in the game, England threatened to take control of the situation. However, a bad phase ensued and India took complete control of the match. From then, England could not deliver a comeback. In a few days, the next game would start in Ranchi. On that note, here, we take a look at two changes England might make for the next game against India in Ranchi.

1) Ollie Robinson for James Anderson

James Anderson did not have a great outing in Rajkot. Although he did well in Vizag, it was a different time out for him in Rajkot. He could not pick up a lot of wickets and also the Indian batters played him well.

For the next game, England could think of rotating their pacers. Ollie Robinson could offer something different to the side. Plus, he also lends an additional hand with the bat, which could be useful to the side. Hence, he could come in for the next match.

2) Dan Lawrence for Jonny Bairstow

Dan Lawrence for Jonny Bairstow is one of the changes England might make for the next game against India in Ranchi. It has been a horrible tournament, so far, for Jonny Bairstow. He is an experienced cricketer who played more than a decade ago in India in this format. Yet, he was not able to do well for the side.

Although Joe Root is also in a similar phase, he is someone who just needs one knock to get his mojo back. However, Bairstow does not inspire that confidence. Yes, Lawrence might not be the exact replacement for Bairstow but the team does not have other reliable options. Moreover, Lawrence also gives an extra spin option, which would further help the management balance the side.
