2 Changes CSK Might Make Against DC To Stop The Losing Streak

After completing a hat-trick of defeats in the league stage of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings are most likely to finish second behind table-toppers Delhi Capitals on the points table. CSK had been performing exceptionally well in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, they lost momentum in the final three league matches.

First, it was the duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube that destroyed the CSK bowling attack and helped Rajasthan Royals chase a 190-run target. In the next game, Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting encounter. Chennai Super Kings played their last league match against the Punjab Kings. While Punjab were struggling for form, they still managed to record a dominant win against the Chennai-based franchise.

Hence, some fans of the Chennai Super Kings team are worried ahead of the main stage of the competition. The Super Kings team management might make the following two changes for the playoffs to ensure their losing streak ends.

1. Dominic Drakes could make his debut for CSK in the playoffs

Caribbean all-rounder Dominic Drakes joined the Chennai Super Kings squad after the English all-rounder of the team Sam Curran was ruled out of IPL 2021 because of an injury. Drakes has never played an IPL match before. He has also never played an international match.

However, he was the Player of the Match in the summit clash of the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League. Drakes has the T20 experience under his belt. Also, he is a left-arm fast bowler. So, he will have a unique angle. Since the Delhi Capitals batters will not have enough idea about his bowling, the Chennai Super Kings could probably include him in their playing XI in place of Josh Hazlewood.

2. Suresh Raina in for Robin Uthappa

Suresh Raina should have recovered from his injury by now and should be available for the IPL 2021 playoffs. Raina is a seasoned pro and a big match player. He has scored one fifty this year, and it came against the Delhi Capitals. Thus, Raina could replace Robin Uthappa, who failed to fire in the last two matches.
