2 changes CSK might do for the next game against LSG

Chennai Super Kings had a decent batting show but failed to defend a good score in the first game of IPL 2023 against Gujarat Titans. There were a few debatable tactics dished out by the management. Next up, CSK will face Lucknow Super Giants in Chennai on Monday. A few changes in the playing 11 can be expected. On that note, here, we take a look at two changes CSK might do for the next game against LSG.

1) Ajinkya Rahane for Devon Conway

CSK’s main aim would be to improve the bowling and for that, they might have to sacrifice their batting strength. In this regard, they could be forced to have Devon Conway sit out while Ajinkya Rahane could get a chance.

However, this will not be a bad move. Yes, Chennai is good for the spinners and Rahane might struggle against them but against pace bowling, Rahane is a good choice. Ruturaj Gaikwad is available at the other end to take on the spinners. CSK could also try out Ben Stokes at the top of the order because the player is not great against spin and he could face a lot of them in a middle-order role.

2) Dwaine Pretorius for Shivam Dube

Dwaine Pretorius for Shivam Dube is one of the changes CSK might do for the next game against LSG. The Mumbai all-rounder hit a few big shots but the overall impact with the bat was poor. He, anyways, does not offer reliable bowling services.

CSK badly needs an option at the death and until Sisanda Magala returns, Pretorius is a decent choice. Mitchell Santner may not be dropped because he can be dangerous at Chepauk. Hence, Pretorious could come in and take the responsibility in the death overs. The all-rounder can also be good with the bat and hence, he is a decent selection for CSK.
