2 bowlers who have bowled five no-balls in a T20I innings

No-Ball is a costly affair in the shorter formats of the game. ICC has further come down hard on the bowlers for this mistake by introducing a free hit. In the past, we have noticed many cases wherein a single no-ball changed the course of the game. However, in a few cases, some bowlers have been very poor in this aspect. On that note, here, we take a look at the names of two bowlers who have bowled five no-balls in a T20I inning so far.

1) Keemo Paul (West Indies)

Opposition: New Zealand || Venue: Auckland || Year: 2020

Back in 2020, Keemo Paul played two T20I encounters against New Zealand. While in the first game, he gave away 39 runs in three overs without picking a wicket, his record was even worse two days later. He gave away 64 runs in four overs without picking any wickets.

In both these encounters, the West Indian cricketer had a problem with overstepping. He struggled to find his footing and this not only eased the pressure on the Kiwis but it also allowed them to take control of the game.

2) Arshdeep Singh (India)

Opposition: Sri Lanka || Venue: Pune || Year: 2023

Arshdeep Singh is one of the bowlers who have bowled five no-balls in a T20I inning so far. In his short career, till now, Arshdeep has already exposed his tendency to consistently bowl no-balls. In fact, no one has done this mistake more than the Punjab pacer so far in T20Is.

Against Sri Lanka recently, he did the mistake on three consecutive balls in his first over and when he came back to bowl at the death, he erred twice. In the end, this proved to be costly. Despite a fightback by the batters, India could not win the game. Also, Dasun Shanaka played really well for his team and took the best advantage of the mistake made by Arshdeep.
