In the past, we have seen a secondary coach becoming a Head Coach. Some of the successful examples include the likes of Andy Flower and Ashish Nehra. A few other coaches could take a similar route. There is a Head Coach requirement at many franchises before IPL 2025. Hence, a few experienced candidates could get an opportunity. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two batting coaches in IPL 2024 who could become a Head Coach in IPL 2025.
1) Mike Hussey
A few years ago, MS Dhoni recommended Hussey’s name for the Head Coach of Team India position. However, that did not happen. While the former Aussie is doing well in some other leagues as a Head Coach, in the IPL, he is only a batting coach.
He might not get the promotion at CSK very soon. Hence, if an opportunity comes his way, it would be a good idea for him to take it. He is a talented coach and has good experience in the IPL. It would also be a challenge for him to take on a side and win the competition.
2) Pravin Amre
Pravin Amre is one of the batting coaches in IPL 2024 who could become a Head Coach in IPL 2025. For a while now, Pravin Amre has been involved as an assistant coach and the batting coach at Delhi Capitals. One of his big gigs happened when he got a chance to become a coach at MLC 2024. However, the team finished last on the points table.
Nevertheless, last season, Chandrakant Pandit showed the potential of a good Indian coach with a strong knowledge of Indian cricket. Pravin has been in the field for a while now. He is popular for shaping the careers of many batters. Therefore, he could get a chance soon.
