2 Australian players Justin Langer might target if he becomes Head Coach of LSG in IPL 2024

Andy Flower’s two-year contract at Lucknow Super Giants is ending and it is reported that he might not renew it. There are also reports that LSG is looking at Justin Langer to be the next Head Coach of the franchise. It is natural that a coach might bring in players that he knows well. In this regard, the 2021 T20 World Cup-winning coach might target a few Aussies for the side. Here, we take a look at two Australian players Justin Langer might target if he becomes Head Coach of LSG.

1) Travis Head

Travis Head is at the peak of his prowess right now. The left-handed batter can operate in the middle-order and as seen recently, he can also do well as an opener. In this regard, LSG might target the services of Travis, who can also provide a few overs of off-spin.

Both Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock have done well for LSG but the franchise might consider freshening up things a bit. Therefore, Head could be an option for the outfit, which has reached the playoffs in both the seasons that it has taken part in.

2) Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc is one of the Australian players Justin Langer might target if he becomes Head Coach of LSG. Ashes might be the last big event for Starc in Tests when you consider it in the near future. The ODI World Cup will happen later this year and the pacer’s position in the T20I line-up is not ensured for the 2024 T20 WC.

Therefore, Starc might think about playing in the IPL. Daniel Sams is at LSG right now but Starc would be an upgrade in the bowling department. With Mark Wood having issues with his fitness, it would be better to have Starc, who can provide a similar impact on his day.
