In the past, as well, we have seen many assistant coaches take the next step to become the Head Coach in the Indian Premier League. Some of the recent examples include the likes of Andy Flower. He was an assistant coach at Punjab Kings and later became the Head Coach of Lucknow Super Giants before he signed up for RCB. This trend will surely continue in the future, as well. Even for IPL 2025, we could see some assistant coaches getting a promotion. Teams such as Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and even Mumbai Indians might need a new Head Coach. Here, we take a look at the list of two assistant coaches in IPL 2024 who could become a Head Coach in IPL 2025.
1) Shane Bond
As per reports, Rahul Dravid is set to become the next Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals. However, there is also news that some other franchises are approaching Dravid. It would not be a surprise if Kumar Sangakkara stepped aside from this role and continued as only the Director.
If that happens, Shane Bond would be a solid choice for Rajasthan Royals. Already, in some of the other leagues, he has shown his skills as a coach. Now, he is both the bowling and the assistant coach of Rajasthan Royals. He could be a fine option to become the Head Coach in IPL 2024. Of course, he can also be an option for some of the other teams, as well.
2) Brad Haddin
Brad Haddin is currently an assistant coach at Punjab Kings. He has the credentials to take the team forward as a Head Coach if given an opportunity.
Haddin has experience as a coach and a T20 player. Sometimes, it would be best to not tinker much. In this regard, PBKS could have him as an option. Hence, he is als one of the assistant coaches in IPL 2024 who could become a Head Coach in IPL 2025. .
